Forest Preserve: Lake of the Woods
Location: Hawthorne Hill Parking Area
Join Forest Preserve staff to help remove either invasive garlic mustard or invasive honeysuckle on Earth Day! All ages welcome. All experience levels welcome; instruction provided. Volunteers under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Long pants, covered ankles and closed-toe shoes required. Expect to be walking off-trail. Tools and gloves provided, but bring your own if you have them. No need to sign up. Please carpool if possible as parking is very limited. Additional parking at Izaak Walton Cabin and the canoe launch, with a short walk along the river then right to the meet up site. No groups that have not already been in contact with staff, please.
